Using LUKS on macOS: A Rewritten, Standalone Write-Up

I published a post about using LUKS on macOS, and this thread covers a revision of it. After feedback that the backup-strategy material wasn't pulling its weight, I cut it and let the piece stand on its own. The revised version was previewed on a Cloudflare Pages preview URL and is now live on my site at nmattia.com. Along the way I also got confirmation that my RSS feed is working, since a reader picked up the new post through it.

This project is the post "Using LUKS on macOS", published at https://nmattia.com/posts/2026-01-13-using-luks-on-macos/.

Before it went live, I shared a preview of the revised article from a Cloudflare Pages deployment at https://nm-macos-luks.nmattia-com.pages.dev/posts/2026-01-13-using-luks-on-macos/ so it could be read and commented on ahead of publication. The feedback on that draft was that the new version reads much more clearly than the previous one.

The main change in this revision came out of a discussion about the backup strategy section. I agreed that this material did not add much to the article — if anything it detracted from it — so I removed it and let the LUKS-on-macOS piece work as a standalone article. I was genuinely glad the issue had been raised, since cutting that section is what made the post better.

A secondary, unplanned outcome: the post was picked up and read via my RSS feed rather than by following the link directly. That confirmed the feed is actually working, which was a pleasant surprise.
